Tip: Make sure your seed beads have holes large enough for the cord. Cut cord ends at angles to facilitate stringing.

Steps

  1. Cut two 12" pieces of cord. Pull cords firmly from both ends to pre-stretch.
  2. Pick up one piece of cord. Thread end through loop at one end of rattlesnake link about 2". Fold this end of cord over, wrap around longer cord to form a loop, then tuck end through loop to form an overhand knot, aiming tail away from link. (Fig 1) Adjust cord so that knot is about 1/4" from link and tighten securely.

  3. String on 1 turquoise seed bead, 1 red-brown seed bead, 1 flower nugget bead, 1 red-brown seed bead and 1 turquoise seed bead. Slide all to knot and secure with a regular overhand knot. Tighten securely.
  4. About 2" from knot placed in Step 3 form button loop by folding cord end over and securing as in Step 2/Fig 1. Do not trim at this time to allow for size adjustment later.
  5. Repeat Steps 2-3 at other end of rattlesnake link.
  6. Determine final bracelet size and tie an overhand knot where button will be placed, approximately 1 1/2" to 2" from previous knot.
  7. Slide button onto cord and tie a final overhand knot 1/2" from knot placed in Step 6. Tighten securely.
  8. Adjust button loop size and placement and tighten knot securely.
  9. Apply a small amount of adhesive into all knots (paying special attention to button loop knot so that it does not slide). Allow to dry.
  10. Trim all cord ends to 1/8"-1/4".
